How this website handles your information

This page covers the BG Counselling website (bgcounselling.ca). Your counselling records are handled separately and are protected under Nova Scotia’s Personal Health Information Act and my professional standards. The FAQ explains how they’re kept.

What this website collects

This website has no forms and doesn’t ask you to enter any personal information. If you email or call me, I use your contact details only to reply to you.

Advertising cookies (Meta Pixel)

I advertise on Instagram and Facebook. To see whether those ads bring people to this website, it uses the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code from Meta Platforms, Inc. When you visit, the Meta Pixel may record:

• which pages of this website you view
• whether you click a “Book Online” button
• technical details such as your browser, device and IP address

Meta may connect this to your Facebook or Instagram account, if you have one, and uses it under Meta’s Privacy Policy. It never receives anything you share in a consultation, a session or a booking.

Booking through Jane App

The “Book Online” buttons take you to Jane App, a secure booking and records platform for healthcare practitioners. Jane handles the information you enter there under its own privacy policy. I don’t add Meta advertising tracking to my Jane booking pages.

Other services this website uses

This website loads fonts from Google Fonts and animation code from Cloudflare’s cdnjs. These services receive your IP address so they can deliver those files to your browser.

Instagram and Facebook messages

If you message BG Counselling on Instagram or Facebook, the message is handled by Meta. These apps aren’t a secure channel for personal health information, so please use them only to ask questions or arrange a consultation.

Your choices

• Turn off ad tracking from websites in your Facebook or Instagram settings, under Ad preferences.
• Block third-party cookies in your browser, or use a private or incognito window.
• Use a tracker-blocking browser extension.

This website works normally with any of these turned on.
